INVESTIGATIVE REPORT

HALBURN WHINES ABOUT CANCELED P.C.D.A. MEETING

Despite Horrible Economy

With America and Putnam County fighting through the worst recession in the last 70 years, businesses aren't lining up to open up anywhere, much less in Putnam County.
Halburn seems to think that the PCDA is responsible for filling every business vacancy in the county.
PutnamLIES.com thinks Halburn is so desperate for his "exclusive" stories to be proven true that he is trying to deflect attention away from his unsubstantiated publishing.

As for the Denny's and SuperplayUSA that fatsack announced over two years ago? PutnamLIES.com will break this news.
They're not coming.
The company that was going to build the Denny's went bankrupt, so good luck with that.
The SuperplayUSA story that he claims he "broke" two years ago was actually broken by WV Media in 2007.

That project is just another victim of the poor economy, because one of the properties that the PCDA is actively marketing is the very piece of land that the entertainment complex was to occupy.
Yeah, the land next to Home Depot has been construction-ready for more than a decade, yet no one has built there.
Why?
Because, like Halburn's 2nd wife's house, the asshats that own the land are asking too much for it.

None of this is anything the PCDA can do anything about.
Contrary to the way Halburn likes to do business, the PCDA can't strongarm tenants into moving into empty storefronts in the county.
You would think if Halburn has such great ideas and is so all fired sure that everyone agrees with his positions that he'd be in overdrive to open a business or run for office. You would expect that.

But he won't.
Because he knows that he'd be a failure as a businessman and made to look like the fool he is during a campaign and soundly defeated in an election. Another public humiliation is something that he can't tolerate.
From the Lincoln Journal to the Point Pleasant Register to Best Buy to Wackenhut, from Charleston Newspapers to WPDE to Sitel to Comfort Inns and Suites, Halburn has been fired from them all. 25 jobs in 25 years is not a stellar employment record.
A guy that can't hold a regular job doesn't have any business lecturing anyone about curing unemployment.

The PCDA has an office that's open every day. Businesses know how to contact them if they need help.
Holding a meeting just for the sake of holding a meeting does no one any good. It's a waste of time and resources.

Halburn is just upset that a canceled meeting deprives him of the chance to harangue the board about buying his second wife's house at an inflated price.

So while Halburn is taking it easy pursuing his hobby of running a cluttered advertising shopper, Putnam County's population continues to grow and its residents have one of the highest median incomes in the state, even as the national economy continues to contract. In addition, Putnam County has the 7th lowest unemployment rate in the state.

Don't expect Halburn to change his ways. All we can hope to do is expose his rantings for what they are: insane.

  1. Excellent points once again made by the real Putnam County news leader!

  2. Great job as usual Mike, cutting edge reporting. By the way, I noticed from Walmart parking lot this morning the MIL's property is listed yet again with another realtor. How many times is this now?

  3. Wonder how long before the inevitable lawsuit against the previous realtor?

The parade of signs will continue until the price comes down to a reasonable level.

  4. His 2nd wifes house will never sell until he gets off is lazy rear end and does some work to it. I was at Wal-Mart over the weekend and it looked just like his "news" site. A Cluttered Mess. Nobody wants to see that let alone consider purchasing it. Wal-Mart should sue him for decreasing their propery values.

  5. I see he missed more of the goings on at Hurricane High (again)...is that because he's banned from that campus?

  6. He sure can cover stories about food though! Great coverage there. I wonder how much BBQ they had to stuff in him to get that kind of a story. They will probably have to file bankruptcy now... You know that he didn't do it out of the goodness of his heart. I'm sure that he will put an unapproved ad on his cluttered advertising shopper for them in return.

  7. Oh, the ad's already there. And you can bet your ass that he was there slobbering and dripping grease everywhere.
There's something in it for him in every story he writes. Free dog bath, free BBQ, etc.
And you're probably right about the bankruptcy. Most new restaurants fail within a year.

  8. Hallie did good while he was on his meds...the perscription must have run out and WalMart wouldn't refil it.

This guys is way beyond left field.

The PCDA had several board members off on vacation and probably didn't have a quarom.

  9. Will he print the health department inspection of the new BBQ? The health department isn't too far from this place is it? Being the ace investigative reporter that he is, my bet is ..... he does not.

  10. Are you kidding?
He's had Gino's and Tudors "ads" running forever and he hasn't published one single health department report on them.
With all the restaurants they have in the county, you know there have been violations there.
Mr. Ethics, of course looks the other way.

  11. Will needledick file another suit against AEP for power outage today from storms?

  12. Only because the PSC doesn't have jurisdiction over god.

  13. Suddenlink was down for a while yesterday also, quite understandably in my opinion. However, I'm sure the publisher will file another baseless complaint with the PSC with idiotic demands.

It would be interesting to know the cost in staff time to the PSC (and taxpayers) he's wasted on his quest for wealth.

  14. I'm sure a complaint will be filed about both outages.
You know, he bitched and moaned about having to drive all the way to Charleston to take his second wife to the doctor, but he happily hops in the car and drives a complaint to the PSC's offices every time there is an outage.

Shows you what's important to him.

  15. Well, there is prob. some truth to the fact that, Mark prays each day, that he is not robbed, that his house does not catch fire, or someone might need EMS service at his home. I think he has pissed in too many peoples, "Wheaties". They will still have to respond.... might just not at neck breaking speed.
Na, they are all professionals and will still over look all the shit he has thrown at them in the past, and respond as they do with everyone.

  16. I'd like to get him on a stretcher and hit him with the defibrillator.
