Halburn Disrupts Dog Swim

Low Turnout Partially Attributed To His Appearance

The 2011 Dog Swim was held Saturday at Waves of Fun, and around 100 people showed up with their dogs. Attendance was hurt this year by several things: It was postponed because of the weather last weekend, the Putnam County Homecoming was going on, and both Marshall and WVU had home games on Saturday.

There was also another reason.
PutnamLIES.com talked to several people who say they stayed away specifically because they were afraid that Hallburn would show up and cause a scene.
"I want nothing to do with anything where this guy is", said Greg Patterson of Eleanor. "He's a menace to the community. He should be locked up." Another woman, who wished to remain anonymous said, " That man scares me. He threatened me one time at the drugstore. I'd like to take my dog there but I won't if he will be there. "

And as expected, as soon as Halburn arrived, he started causing problems. He immediately flew into a rage and started yelling at Joe Haynes. Commissioner Haynes told Hallburn, "I won't talk to you. I refuse to talk to you," and added "You're a psychopath, stay away from me."
Halburn's typical behavior was disturbing, but not as disturbing as his conduct as a human being.Things may have gotten even uglier but Halburn ran away with his tail tucked between his legs.

Karen Haynes organizes the Dog Swim every year as a fund-raiser for the new Putnam County Animal Shelter. When asked how much money was raised, Haynes tells PutnamLIES.com that $502.00 was donated toward building the new shelter.

Contrary to the Facebook quote from the jailbird assclown Jeremy Linville that Hallburn used in his blog, in 2010 the Dog Swim raised $1,800. A very successful effort. This February, Hallburn falsely alleged in his PutnumLIVE.com blog that keeping Waves of Fun's facilities running for the week prior to the event cost Putnam County Parks and Recreation more than $1,142. However, PutnamLIES.com's investigation proved that the event actually cost less than $250.00.

Were there as many people as last year? Was as much money raised? No. But that's not really what the dog swim is about.
Making new furry friends and families being together is what the dog swim is really all about.
And every penny raised is a penny closer to the goal of building a new animal shelter.

Hallburn's vendetta against Putnam County won't allow him to see that.

But obviously we shamed him, because he later went back after viewing PutnamLIES.com and added a couple of lines about how he supports the shelter and added the contact information that we always include. He also scrubbed the jailbird assclown's comments from his Facebook page as well as his letters page.

  1. The one person Halburn could get to talk to him is a druggie. He has been arrested many times for drugs, domestic battery, stealing from his own father. These criminals sure do sitck together
