Area Criminal Doesn't Count On Background Check

In September Mark Halburn was shopping for a church. One where he could go in, throw his weight around, and impress everyone with how media savvy he was.

On December 10 Halburn wrote:
"The great news is I found a great church where I've joined the video crew. The bad news is that I didn't get to go, today, because they canceled services because of a sever storm forecast that ended up being moderate rain... Not a single snowflake in our area!"

On December 26 things seemed to take a turn for the worse.

Sounds like Halburn didn’t count on his new church’s “video ministry team” or whatever doing background checks like they do in real places.

Lost your papers is shorthand for "You're not going to get the job because of your background."
Most people take the hint.
He clearly failed the background check and now is demanding to know why.

And they’re just sort of ghosting him on it.

Then, on January 25th another vaguebook post. It's clear he misses Topix.

Protect My Ministry is a company that serves churches by offering national criminal database searches for volunteers and employees. If the applicant has no record, it's reported instantly. For serial offenders like Halburn the task is a little more complicated.

If there is a hit on the records, there is a 24-48 hour process of re-verification, in which the county courthouse records are updated to the national criminal database records, prior to sending results back.

Prior to sending national background results to their clients, they verify the accuracy of the information by thoroughly reviewing every positive record hit returned from the national criminal & sex offender database. These records are “frozen” for further investigation at the county courthouse.

 Records are first validated based on whether or not they positively match the applicant’s identity. This prevents false positives, which can happen when doing national database searches. They also filter out un-reportable records such as. parking tickets.

A background check can be as little as a one-county check or as in-depth as a security clearance investigation. Public and private records can be searched once the applicant gives his consent.

Typically, their turnaround time on submitted requests is typically the same day to 48 hours.

A final report from Protect My Ministry includes the following:

    Case numbers
    File Dates
    Complete description of charges
    Sentencing information
    Disposition and dates
    Cases with multiple charges will be fully explained

For Halburn, that's going to be a long list.

How shit of a person do you have to be to be turned down by a church as a volunteer? Better find another church that doesn't care about the safety of its members, fatboy.

Topix, the trailer park of the internet, suddenly closed their discussion forums Thursday.

The forums were a place Mark Halburn would anonymously attack people who he thought had wronged him. Almost always under a fake name.

Here's what users see when they go to the site now.

Halburn was notorious for his Topix attacks.

He even announced his divorce there.

He called a magistrate a slut.

He called Karen Haynes a bitch.

He posted under the name of a murdered child.

He attacked the Nazarene Church.

He attacked potential employers, businesses and government officials.

He even harassed the CEO of Topix.

All under a long list of sock puppet names he created. Because he wasn't man enough to use his real name or say it to them in person.
He wasn't fooling anyone though. The things he said, his unique style of writing, and choice of words gave him away.
Every. Single. Time.

Anything that “rules”, “rocks”, or “sux”?
That was him.
And he's an instant homer. Whatever town he's living in.

That's going to put a crimp into him anonymously attacking people.
He’s going to be crestfallen!
A strongly worded missive will follow.
Maybe he'll try and take credit and say he got them shut down because of all of the harassment.
That wouldn't surprise anyone at all.

Mark Vance Halburn's case in Nicholas Co. was dismissed with prejudice today, December 4, 2018, when the fat son of a bitch failed to appear for a hearing.


 
This was nothing more than Halburn once again trying to use the legal system to harass his enemies.

Everyone involved had to hire an attorney. Think of all the money that has been wasted in this.  And that's what he wants. He wants everyone involved to spend money because they have it and he never will.

Realtors Warned To Beware

In late July Realtors in the Piedmont region of North & South Carolina area were warned to watch out for stalker Mark Vance Halburn.

On July 30, Halburn, using a fake name, posted this on the trailer park of the internet, Topix, one of his favorite places to anonymously attack people.

So we knew there had been an incident.

What happened?

Halburn used REALTOR.com to contact a real estate agency in Gastonia NC. But it turns out his reputation preceded him.

The first red flag? He specifically asked for a female Realtor.

Why would he do that?
That's his M.O.  Find a woman to intimidate.

After they got more information about him, they took precautions and agents showed him the listing.  During the showing, Halburn became agitated easily and contradicted himself numerous times, creating an uncomfortable situation for the Realtors. After the showing, he began emailing & texting the Realtors in a harassing manner.

Local police were notified and they confirmed Halburn's history of arrests for stalking and harassment in West Virginia. An investigation is now under way.

The Piedmont Regional Realtor Association in Rock Hill, SC then sent the following bulletin to all its members:

" ***PLEASE BE AWARE THERE IS A POSSIBLE STALKER IN THE AREA!!!***
It has come to our attention there is someone calling Real Estate Offices asking for a female realtor to show him unoccupied homes listed for sale. He calls and can be very verbally abusive when you advise him to come into the office.

The name he gives is Mark Halburn and the phone number shows up on the caller ID as 304-415-6397. We believe he is not a genuine customer and has a history of arrests for stalking and harassment.
Please use caution and your best judgment if you encounter this person."

This guy doesn't have two dimes to rub together and he's looking at houses?
He wouldn't even qualify for a mortgage.
And if it's a rental, they need to make sure they get a big cleaning deposit because this guy is the worst slob you've ever seen.
Then after all that, last week he group texted a bunch of realtors, saying if they needed high quality photos of their listings from a professional photographer, that they should call him.

We applaud Piedmont Regional Realtor Association for being proactive and warning their members about this menace.

As Judge Michael Kelly wrote in Halburn's final divorce order:
"Mr. Halburn's arrests follow the pattern clearly seen by the mental health professionals: he generates needless conflict and then overreacts when his bullying tactics are resisted."

And, as the West Virginia Supreme Court wrote:
"The family court found that "there is no doubt that Mr. Halburn will bully, degrade and infuriate everyone with whom he disagrees or who has refused to accommodate his odious and malicious conduct."
And finally, as Halburn's court ordered mental evaluation states:“Mr. Halburn’s psychological profile and behavior would suggest that he has propensity for aggressive behavior. Given his degree of agitation and volatility, any threats made by Mr. Halburn should be taken seriously and dealt with appropriately.”

Halburn had this part time job for several months where he went into convenience stores and moved around shit on the shelves. Now, it looks like he's been fired from yet another job.
The name of the company is Set and Service Resources.

And no one even asks WTF?

He  might need to change his relationship on Facebook to "it's complicated", or "Living with a Child Molester."

As in his past out-of-state ventures, Mark Vance Halburn has failed once again and returned yet again, like a bad case of the clap, to reinfest West Virginia, even if only a temporary measure.

Here’s some good news to start the year.

After a devastating 2017, where he was jailed twice and lost all visitation with his son until at least May 2019, by the end of the year Mark Vance Halburn was reduced to dumpster diving for cans and begging for cash on Gofundme.

Broke and defeated, Halburn announced today he’s leaving town and moving to South Carolina.


Whether or not it actually happens is anyone’s guess. It would be just like Halburn to say something like this in order to dodge a summons or a warrant.

Some say he's leeching off his sugar mama Barbara and her elderly parents,  living at their house in Raleigh, NORTH Carolina.



Halburn claims one of his FB friends says his church will get him a job and a place to live. Perfect for him. Someone else does the work of finding him a job. Wait until he gets hired and starts his shit.

Certainly a better economy in terms of jobs, but with his history, he can’t hold down a job, so he’ll never have anything more than what he has here.
He’s never going to be executive material, no matter how far he runs.
Hotel desk worker. This “merchandising” thing. Retail. That’s about it.
A 56 year old guy with no savings, no retirement and no prospects still has a long time to work.
And a future living the rest of his life in a dirtneck shit trailer park.

Unfortunately for him the water slide at Heritage USA has been shut down for years. He’ll have to find someplace else to harass about their pool.

On December 16,2017, the bum was so desperate to get some money that he started a Gofundme campaign to scam money from suckers.



Apparently the unsecure office space is his one bedroom garage apartment in Dunbar and whatever fast food place he can leech wifi from.

It appears though, that $100 he raised was enough to get him gas money to get out of town.

Strangely enough, Halburn has never posted a link to the Gofundme campaign on his hate blog, his personal Facebook page or the two other FB pages he uses to pimp his blog. He’s not going to raise much money that way. Maybe he doesn’t want everyone to know that the so-called successful businessman is a dismal failure.

Halburn has tried relocating twice before. Once in 2007, where he lasted 4 months at a TV station in Conway SC before being fired and returning to WV, and again in 2012 when his second ex-wife threw him out of her house and divorced him. He lasted 7 months that time, while living in a trailer in Galivants Ferry SC and working at a Myrtle Beach pier.
Don't look for this attempt to last any longer. He'll fail this time just as he has his entire life.

Sunday, Mark Vance Halburn’s hate blog disappeared. Not completely though. All the pages have been replaced with a placeholder that says,
“Please Be Patient
Site under Maintenance”


It probably should read,
“Please Be Patient
Publisher in Jail”

He has obviously gotten one of his associates, or more likely his sugar mama Barbara, to turn off all access to his fake news blog.
Shortly after that, his personal Facebook page and both of the Facebook pages that he uses to pimp his blog were disabled as well.
 
The most likely explanation for this is that there was some content on there that violated the family court order that he is currently in jail for violating and he’s hoping that will help get him out.
Halburn can be held indefinitely until he complies with the order. In the past, he was ordered not to discuss the case on his blog or social media. This seem to point to something similar.

Sugar mama Barbara is out collecting checks from “advertisers” while Halburn  is in jail. Do you think she’s telling them that their ads aren’t being seen?

UPDATE:
Less than 5 hours after he was released from jail, he reactivated his personal Facebook page. Shortly after that, his fake news hate blog reappeared.  The blog had been scrubbed of any banned references, save one, which was removed in the overnight hours. His personal FB page, however, still has numerous, numerous, numerous pictures of his second ex-wife as well as screencaps of text messages, etc.

When Halburn left this comment on Travel Centers-TA-Petro's Facebook page this morning we knew something was up.

The explanation shows up a few hours later.
He turned down a job because they couldn't accommodate HIS schedule. But as usual, he blames THEM.
It's always someone else's fault isn't it Halburn?
 

Or maybe since the openings they have are for cooks, servers, truck service advisers and mechanics, he's just not qualified for a job there.
Maybe they checked him out and then turned him down. All his arrests, the restraining orders against him, his mental evaluation, his harassment of people in the community, the abuse of his second ex-wife. Those follow him around like the stench of his filthy tee shirts and cut off sweat pants.

 This has to be a first for Halburn.

Here's how it works. They are hiring for certain shifts. If your availability doesn't meet their needs, you're not a good choice.
There are many reasons why Crisco is not a good choice, but we will start with this reason.

What sort of a  "man" who has no job, who makes less than minimum wage and has had to have his child support reduced at least THREE times because he can't afford to pay it, turns down a job because they wouldn't let him work the schedule HE wanted to work? Everyone misses time with their family because of work. Do you actually believe a business should work around your personal schedule, Halburn?

They offered you a job, then you told them you can only work every other weekend and no Wednesday evenings.
What did you think they were going to do? Jump for joy and say "Sure Mr Halburn. You're the Dad of the Year. Work whatever schedule you want to work. The world revolves around you."

Skilless grifters are a dime a dozen. Hell, crack whores and heroin addicts have a better skill set and work ethic than you do. TA doesn't need you.
It's not discrimination when a potential employee tries to tell an employer when he's going to work.

That's not how you go about getting a job. Something you're oblivious of since you're 55 years old, have held about 100 menial jobs and been fired from most of them.

A real father does whatever it takes to provide for his child.

You don't care if your son eats or not. You know Doedy and Donnie will be sure he has food to eat. He doesn't care about the kid and never has. It's all about him and him getting his way. Handout Halburn! Piece of shit.

They will raise him right. It's good that he has a real, positive male role model in his home now. Someone who treats his mommy right, works a steady job and doesn't leech off his wife.Now he has a real man to look up to.

Interrviews were held this evening for the Dave Hardy's vacant seat on the Kanawha County Commission.
9 qualified applicants and Halburn were interviewed for the position.

This was the extent of his interview.
All questions were asked by Kent Carper as Lardass slouched in his seat.

Carper: I'll be honest. I was surprised you applied for this. How in the world could you get along with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, the circuit court, the family court, or for that matter anybody else?
Halburn:  You can contact Sheriff Deweese of Putnam County who I deal with on a regular basis.
Carper: We're not in Putnam County.
Carper: What's your relationship with the Circuit Court of Kanawha County? Is it good or bad?
Halburn:  I haven't talked to them in years so you could ask them that.
Carper: Didn't they file an order so you can't file anymore lawsuits here?
Halburn:  No, they did not.
Carper: You have a good relationship with the court here?
Halburn:  As far as I can tell.

And then Kent wraps up with this after Halburn mentions his divorce:
"If we were going to get into personal stuff it wouldn't be about that."

Our takeaways:

Typical Halburn, skirting the truth. ALWAYS with the semantics and half-truths. There WAS an order filed against Halburn in 2014 from filing any actions without a lawyer, but still allowed pleadings filed by a lawyer on his behalf to be filed.

Carper never followed up.

Carper should have asked about Halburn's relationship with the family court. That would have been a revealing answer. Virtually every judge in the county has recused themselves because they don't want to deal with Halburn.

Halburn should just go ahead and marry Steve Deweese. They would probably be very happy together. It's like a teenage suckfest with those two.

Halburn had to sit there while Judge Tod Kaufman, the only judge in WV to ever hold him responsible for a crime, stood directly in front of him and spoke after he swore in the new Commissioner, Ben Salango.

If it is at all possible, Kent Carper may be the only person who loves the sound of his voice and pats himself on the back more than Mark Halburn does.

DENIED!

In his ongoing battle to be recognized as a legitimate journalist, Halburn has been soundly rejected again by West Virginia State University.

At least there's one government office that has the balls to tell him no.

Halburn Planning Name Change For His Hate Blog

Blobby Blogger Gets Scooped On Own Announcement

In a desperate attempt to remain relevant and run away from his toxic brand, Halburn will be changing the name and domain of his blog. The new name will be Putnam County News and Putnumcountynews. com will be the new URL. The site was registered on December 27, 2015. It's unsure when the changeover will actually take place.
He doesn't seen to understand that changing the name is not going to make people forget. His past is not going to be erased that easily.

One of the reasons for the change? He now gets to use News in the name. So now he can harass people under a new name and continue to insist "IT'S NOT A BLOG!"

The other reason? Through our efforts, his blog and its name were so damaged, so poisoned, so associated with his harassing, bullying tactics that he was forced to change the name.
And in typical style he made a new shitty logo with some copied clipart. Appropriate that he chose his notebook computer as one of the pieces of clipart..

Pretty sure he just got scooped on his own announcement. News leader my ass.

More Harbor Fraud

Harbor Freight has kicked Mark Halburn to the curb.















First, he was suspended for being disrespectful to the manager. Then he went on medical leave because he "hurt his wrist at work". In the time  he was employed there he supposedly got hurt 3-4 times.  
After that he tried to say he tripped over some pallets and fell, then a trailer hitch fell on his foot. He was on leave until May 15th.
Someone's looking for a workers comp claim. What a low life loser. 

His injury hasn't affected him doing his "reporting" though. And working at Union Mission where he was hired on May 9.
Some people could call that Workers Comp fraud.

If Harbor Freight could find him "working" otherwise, they'd have a good claim. They're not paying him to not come to work so he can play Mr Big Important Newsman.

And then, he evidently touched a co-worker's butt and made her uncomfortable every time they left at the same time. She started leaving 10 minutes before him.

He started calling management threatening to sue them over our previous report.

Now he thinks PutnamLies is one of the people working there.

At the end of May, he gave them his  2 week notice, but they let him go when he turned it in. Reports say he was fired  for sexual harassment of a female worker.
Jesus doesn't sexually harass, Mark.

He claims he got a manager position at U-haul.  It's always a manager position.. Whatever it is, it's something where he can wear his sloppy t-shirts, shorts, and sandals to work. 

Whatever the new job is, he still comes into Harbor Freight 2 or 3 times a week using free item coupons.

That's just more stalking behavior to let everyone know he's still around. You can't push him around.

Mark Vance Halburn's long dreamed appeal of the final order of his divorce, issued by Kanawha County Family Court Judge Michael Kelly, was heard before the WV Supreme Court on Tuesday, and as expected, he beclowned himself.

Security was heightened in and around the courtroom for his appearance Tuesday, with extra Court officers on hand in the Court itself and at least 20 extra Troopers from the WV State Police in force across the Capitol grounds.

Halburn, who represented himself, came before the highest court in the state dressed once again like a homeless slob, immediately tried a sympathy ploy with his "I'm mostly deaf in one ear ..." excuse. This, from the man that claimed to be able to hear a pin drop in the Hurricane Walmart parking lot.

It was a trainwreck. 

The Court made it clear at the top this wasn't to introduce new evidence. Any attempts by Halburn to grandstand or shit talk were immediately shut down. No bullshit was tolerated at all.

Halburn presented his excuses while laying all over the historic lectern. Jeezus, you lazy bastard, can't you stand up straight for 10 minutes?

Halburn's case consisted not of pointing out of errors in the law made by Judge Kelly, but of him explaining how all the ass-showing incidents he has been involved with over the years were all misinterpreted. The airports, the hotel pools, the arrests, the restraining orders, etc.

We've heard all of the arguments before. First Amendment, my civil rights, dead mother, false testimony, half truths, exaggerations, yadda, yadda, yadda...

The arguments were streamed by the Court and you can be guaranteed their server was overloaded.

 
All the questioning was done by Chief Justice Brent Benjamin.

Surprisingly, Margaret Workman, a vocal child advocate, did not speak.

It had to be difficult for her to remain silent with a notorious domestic abuser before her.

Perhaps the court didn't want her to be a target in the event she's elected the next Chief Justice, which rotates every year. 

And, since Halburn will certainly petition for rehearing once he gets their opinion, she may be at the head of the Court that will deny that.

So, knowing that no woman tells Mark Halburn his business, it's possible they're just trying to stave off attacks on her.

Justice Menis Ketchum, a favorite target of Halburn's insane behavior, remained mute throughout.

It's almost like they all agreed beforehand that only the Chief would talk.

 

Justice Robin Davis was absent.

One of the first questions Benjamin asked Halburn was about a letter submitted to the court that was alleged to be from Judge Kelly. The fraudulent letter, in which he impersonates a judicial official, was referenced in Halburn's final divorce order, It was determined by the Family Court to have come from Halburn. It is shown here in its entirety.

I refused to allow Mark Halburn to correct Glass's lies and improperly threatened to throw Mark Halburn out of a conference call hearing. I have repeatedly refused to correct my improper temporary order. I violated XXXXXX Halburn's right to a Spring Break vacation in Myrtle Beach. I am an embarrassment to the legal profession.

Therefore, I immediately vacate my temporary order. I award Mark Halburn the marital home and full custody of XXXXXX Halburn immediately.

I then resign my position as Kanawha County Family Court judge due to my incompetency and arrogance. I agree to move to another state and never practice law or hold public office again.

Halburn was asked repeatedly about the fake Kelly letter. Four times. Four. And each time he insisted someone hacked his email. He also said that the email that said that his son missed the opportunity to see his mother was  also sent by a hacker. 

The divorce order says the Kelly letter was submitted. Does not at all say emailed. It says the letter was submitted.  And looking at the letter, it is clearly written as a business letter, not as an email.

Benjamin wanted to know why the language in Halburn's motion was the same as the letter that purported to be from Michael Kelly? He specifically hit on how this letter specifically cites Spring Break and Myrtle Beach and Halburn's motions do as well, especially in light of all of this happening after Halburn had relocated to Myrtle Beach.

Halburn's response?  Blah, blah, blah, dodge, dodge, hack, hacked, hacked, hacked, I have proof I was hacked, I didn't send that email, I was set up by blogs. He alleges that he filed a police report in Fullerton CA. Why there he offered no explanation.

He had FOUR opportunities to come clean.

Halburn actually brought up the voices in his head when he was trying to defend how he would never send anything like that to the court. He said something to the effect of "You can even ask Steve Canterbury that when I was in Poca at Heritage Days and I heard a voice behind me asking me if I wanted them to take care of Watkins or the court that I told him to try to protect the court.

There is no way to describe the level of insane.

Halburn was then asked where he lived when he came back from failing as a part-time bait counter help in South Carolina. Halburn quickly went into a story about having to move to South Carolina because he was "hurting" and finally got around to saying "Dunbar." Benjamin asked two additional times if he had lived anywhere else besides Dunbar after he moved back to West Virginia from South Carolina. It was never in the order that he lived with a kiddie diddler, but the Court knows he did. So they asked. A few times. Each time he insisted he had lived only in Dunbar.

When asked on several occasions how many times he's been arrested since his divorce appeal Halburn begrudgingly had to acknowledge his arrest, but couched everything with how it's still unresolved. Halburn was convicted and sentenced to 45 days in jail but is appealing.

Halburn was asked about what he owed and if he was paying, and he replied he was paying early and more than the required amount. and by more, he means he rounds up to the next dollar. Mr. Generous. Then he complained about having to pay his part of the boy's medical bills for an ER visit.

At one point Halburn asked for a show of hands, like he was on a game show.

Justice Allen Loughry, making his only statement of the day, told Halburn that the Court wasn't answering questions and to get on with it.

Halburn's second ex-wife holds her head as he tries to engage Supreme Court Justices.

Halburn also claimed to not know where his son goes after school -- saying specifically "I don't know where he goes" -- but also claimed he was told the boy goes to sit at his mothers office where a 10-year-old child "watches" him. Another lie. He knows good and well where the boy goes because he and his child molesting buddy followed the school bus there to serve the mother with a summons.

Toward the end of his "rebuttal" to Ms M's testimony, Halburn then went on a rant about how he doesn't know why Ms. M says he says he would take her son to California and never come home. 

In a back and forth about how Kelly order said the visitation situation would be re-evaluated when he was 10, which gave Halburn 4 years to get his shit together, Ms. M said the boy is already fighting her about going to Daddy's house on weekends and she's making him do it. 

She's in no way, shape or form preventing or hindering his relationship with the child. Not at all.

And the mental evaluation that he trumpets over and over as calling him parent of the year actually says he's ignoring the kid. It actually says that he isn't interacting with him.

"This examiner notes having had a brief, unplanned opportunity to observe Mr. Halburn with his son the day following his initial evaluation. Mr. Halburn and (the boy) were visiting a local park. It is believed that Mr. Halburn was unaware of this examiner's presence at the same park. Mr. Halburn... was not actively interacting with him at the time of the observation."

The Court pointed out he's had two court ordered psych exams. One by Hudson and one by Thistlewait for the Walmart litigation.

And immediately Halburn went on defensive saying that Thistlewait was a "hired gun with zero credibility" and he was hired specifically to libel him, etc. 

The Court wasn't having any of it.

As Ms. M pointed out, they both essentially said the same thing. One just said it much more sharply.

Halburn did actually admit that his sole reason of choosing My Family Day Care was an ad trade-out and alleged that Ms. M's only reason for removing the boy from there was to damage his advertising relation with that business.

In trying to spin an 2008 airport incident where he and his family were kicked off a plane, he name drops Fox News anchor Brian Kilmeade.

BRIAN FUCKING KILMEADE.

This may have been the part where Allen Loughry started to laugh.

Another highlight was referencing how he wanted to move back to California and live a block down from Richard Nixon and go surfing.
Note to Halburn: Nixon has been dead for almost 20 years.

Then the MOTHERFUCKER DROPS A DELOREAN REFERENCE IN HIS SUPREME COURT HEARING!!!

Explaining it by saying, "That was humor" 

The only problem was that nobody laughed.

The only thing he left off was how he and Michael J. Fox were in Back to the Future together... Until they re-shot the scene where Halburn and his mom walked out of the J.C. Penney and into the shopping mall parking lot... So, he only made it to the cutting room floor!

Halburn came close to losing control at one point when talking about Kelly, he shouted, "He's a lying..." before stopping himself.

Toward the end, Halburn exhibited a case of fake crying.

Tyler Hollywood even got a sideways hat tip when the judge asked about a $20,000 that he made for Halburn's blog

Halburn's second ex-wife also represented herself.

She was extremely sympathetic, credible and did a very good job presenting her case.
Her main point was that the well being of the child comes first. NOT Mark Halburn's wants.

She expressed the anxiety she felt when Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Philip Stowers loosened up the travel and overnight restrictions Halburn had against taking the child out of state on weekends. She brought up his May 2013 car wreck with the child in the car. And that she doesn't know what really happened. She even was generous to say that she doesn't blame Halburn at all for what happened, because the fact remains that she doesn't actually KNOW what happened.

All she "knows" is that he insists it was a hit and run.

Here's what we think. Fatman fucks around on phone, hits divider wall, endangers child, blames someone else.

Her testimony was STRONG to tie everything to money. She referenced several motions and orders he'd filed in which each one demanded some kind of financial compensation -- $65,000 for a "settlement," $3,000 a month in spousal support, $1 million in sanctions against her lawyer, $10 billion in punitive damages for other things.

That was a great move on her part, because those Justices aren't dumb. Anybody who reads those motions can see that custody of that child equals money to him. It's a meal ticket to continue to pretend he's a big important newsman. The loving father barely mentions the boy by name.

This the end of the road for Halburn's appeal. There is no federal avenue of appeal here. He has no legal standing to bring it before the United States Supreme Court because there are no federal implications in this case. He can scream civil rights all he wants, but "fat, white, mentally unstable divorced guy" isn't a protected class.

Mark Halburn's Court run ends here, but we predict Ms. M will be in family court six times a year until he goes to jail or dies. Or he kidnaps the kid and tries to disappear.

 

Court watchers say the word immediately after the hearing was that this was probably the first time anybody had actually HURT their efforts by demanding an appeal. He did himself no favors.

An opinion is expected before the term ends in another two to three weeks.
The outcome will not be favorable for Mark Vance Halburn. By the end of the year he will be eating a big bucket of legal fail.
